By default, all charts in MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 on desktop and mobile display only the Bid price. To have a complete view of the market, you might want to enable the Ask price line. Here are the instructions to enable the Ask price line on different platforms.
MetaTrader 4 (MT4):
- Select "Charts" from the top menu.
- Select "Properties" (F8).
- Go to the "Common" tab.
- Check the box for "Show Ask line."
MetaTrader 5 (MT5):
- Select "Charts" from the top menu.
- Select "Properties" (F8).
- Go to the "Show" tab.
- Check the box for "Show ask price line."
Note: The Ask Price Line appears in red by default. If the Ask Price Line is the same color as your chart background, you may not see it. To ensure visibility:
- Select "Charts" > "Properties" (F8) > "Colors" tab.
- Change the color of the Ask Price Line if necessary.
The Ask Price Line may not be shown on larger time frames as it is often too close to the Bid Line.

- Right-click anywhere on the chart.
- Select "Properties."
- Check the box "Show ask line."
MetaTrader 5 (MT5):
